Road Trip Essentials


Big Sur’s coast line is extremely rugged and has lots of little nooks and crannies, the possibilities for fun beach breaks, points and little coves are almost limitless.


Perfect setup, but no beach access! Oh well on to the next spot…

I pulled off this trail and just a short hike away was a beautiful water fall. The creeks up there are pristine and the water is clean enough to drink right out of your hands!

We headed north up the frigid coast until we found a peeling left coming off a pier. Sean suited up and I went out to the snow-covered pier to shoot. Although it was challenging conditions to shoot in trying to keep the subject in focus during the blizzard, and not knowing if my toes were going to fall off, it was truly a moment us surfers and surf photographers live for.
